Materials:

  • Large tub or plastic container
  • 1 liter or 33.8 ounces of hot water
  • 1 cup of white vinegar
  • 2 tbsp of baking soda
  • Trash bin
  • Trash bag
  • Whip It multipurpose stain remover spray, optional
  • Zip It drain-cleaning tool

Directions:

Step 1

First off, prepare your natural cleaning solution. In a large tub or plastic container, pour about one liter or 33.8 ounces of hot boiling water, then add about a cup of white vinegar, and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. You’ll see that it will fizz up, which means that the baking soda is working, if it doesn’t fizz or bubble, then you probably need to purchase a new one. Let it sit for a few minutes while you’re cleaning the drain. You can spray your tub and drain cover with some multipurpose stain removal spray beforehand as you are making the solution, then let it sit.

Step 2

Next, prepare a trash bin and line it with a plastic or trash bag, then set it on the side. Remove the drain cover, grab your drain cleaning tool, then insert and push it all the way through the drain. Move it around back and forth slightly, then slowly pull it out, and then remove all of the stuck hair and dirt, throw them directly into the bin. Pour some water and push all of the smaller dirt particles into the drain and flush it all out. Grab the prepared solution and slowly pour it around the inside of the drain. The solution will break any soil stuck inside the drain, leave and let it sit for about 30 minutes, then wash the bathtub well.
