Soft-boiled eggs are not for everyone, but I prefer them over hard-boiled eggs, as the yolk is creamy and savory. If you are someone like me who loves soft-boiled eggs, you probably know how hard it is to peel. Sometimes, when I try to peel one, almost all of the egg whites stick to the shell, which can be annoying as you get less and it’s unappealing to eat.

Place room-temperature eggs in a pot and fully submerge them in boiling hot water. Add a dash of vinegar. The vinegar is optional. Let it simmer for 7 minutes.
While waiting for the eggs to cook, prepare a bowl of cold tap water.
After 7 minutes, remove the eggs and transfer to the bowl of cold water. Toss the warm water and refill with cold water. Repeat until the water no longer warms up and the eggs are cooled down.
Hold the egg so that the wider side is on top.
Gently tap it on a flat surface. This is the easiest way to get underneath the membrane for smooth peel. Dip it in water as you peel. It will loosen up the membrane and lubricate the surface of egg whites so it doesn’t rip from friction.
After cooking, chill the eggs overnight.
Crack the egg gently, then roll on the counter.
Gently peel the shell.
