Most bottles have some kind of strip around the top. Find it and use it to tear the foil off to expose the cage and get it unscrewed. There will always be 6 turns.
Once the cage is unscrewed, depending on a couple of factors, there is a small chance the cork will fly off the bottle. Keep an eye on the cage and don’t point it to anyone. Leave the cage on.
Place your thumb over the top of the cork and wrap your hand around the cage. Hold this hand steady and with your other hand, turn the bottle from the bottom. When done correctly, there will be nonviolent pop just a hiss.
