Our towels lose their fluffiness in a short period of time, and this really bugs me. I want to maintain their soft texture as long as possible, so I look up ways how to do it. While browsing Youtube the other day, I stumbled upon this tutorial from This and That with Denise Jordan. These tips are just what I’ve been looking for! It’s straightforward, simple, and informative. Who would have thought using liquid detergent could ruin your towels? And using vinegar could make them fluffy again? These tips are really genius, and from now on, I will start applying them every time I wash my towels. If you also want to learn these tips, make sure to check out the video below.
When washing the towels, add 1/2 cup of plain white vinegar into the detergent bin. Run the wash with just the vinegar and no detergent. Once the cycle is through, wash the towels again, adding the detergent, and by this time, add another 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle. This will leave no stink on your towels. For a softer and fluffier texture, it’s important that you don’t overfill the washer, cut back on your detergent, don’t over-dry, use just medium heat, and fold them as soon as you take them out of the dryer.

Now, to increase the longevity of your towels, consider not using fabric softener in your towels. It can coat the fibers of your towel, leaving it stiff and reducing its absorbency. You can replace your fabric softener with plain white vinegar. If you really insist on fabric softener, do not use a liquid one.
