Gravy is a must when it comes to Thanksgiving because I love having it over my turkey and mashed potatoes. This Thanksgiving gravy recipe by Rachael Ray on YouTube uses only 5 ingredients, plus pepper, to make. I usually make the gravy from the turkey drippings or giblets, but this is a great way to make the gravy ahead or you can freeze this too. Gravy is so easy to make, but sometimes it can be forgetful. However, this gravy recipe is a no-fail gravy that turns out successful in the end. I think I would like to try this gravy out, but I will use my homemade turkey stock from the brine I make overnight. This will be one less thing to prepare on Thanksgiving day. Also, you can make this a vegetarian gravy by using vegetable stock instead.

Next, raise the heat a little to thicken the gravy. Then, turn off the heat and cover. Also, to serve, bring the gravy to a low bubble, and whisk in pan drippings from your turkey.

Overall, I love gravy because it gives off the perfect savory taste on top of the mashed potatoes. Plus it makes everything moister in my opinion if the turkey or stuffing is dry. Also, she gives a tip on mixing the gravy with an egg yolk in a separate bowl, then pouring it back into the pot makes it extra rich, moist, and glossy.
