Instead of topping your recipes with simple cranberries, level up by preparing a sugar-coated version that your family and guests both kids and adults alike will love for sure. Learn how to prepare this super easy treat that you can also eat as a snack with this video tutorial by Sugar Spun Run on YouTube.
Step 1
Place a medium-sized saucepan on a stove over medium-low heat, then add the water and half a cup of sugar, and stir them together for a few minutes or until the sugar has completely dissolved. Add the cranberries, then give them a good stir until the cranberries have been well coated with the syrup mixture, and turn off the heat. Using a slotted spoon, carefully remove the cranberries from the syrup mixture, then lay them on a wire cooling rack with wax or parchment paper underneath to catch all of the sticky drips, and make sure to space them evenly.

Step 2
Allow the syrup-coated cranberries to dry for about an hour, then add the sugar in a mixing bowl, and add the cranberries in batches tossing them around until well coated. Scoop them out of the sugar using a slotted spoon, then shake off all the excess sugar, and put them back into the wire rack or sheet pan lined with parchment paper. Let them dry to set for 1 more hour, then use in your desired recipes, or serve as is for a snack, and enjoy!
