These Santa hat jello shots by Delish on YouTube is festive, and a great way to include the Christmas spirit in a fun alcoholic drink. I think it’s a great idea to make these for Christmas parties and gatherings because it’s a funny way to include Santa. Also, if you think these are cute but do not drink alcohol, or want to make them kid-friendly, skip out on the alcohol. I would switch out the alcohol for this recipe because I prefer tequila instead. You can easily eat a couple of these and feel good. Also, if you don’t want the Santa hat, and want to make the regular strawberry jello shots, skip out on it. However, I am curious about what the whipped cream, strawberry, and alcohol taste like together. It would be an interesting balance of flavors.

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 3/4 c. vodka
  • 1 (3-oz.) package strawberry Jell-O
  • 1 container Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1-pint strawberries, hulled

Directions:

First, pour water into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Once the water has boiled, remove it from the heat and add the Jell-O packet. Stir everything until dissolved. Add the vodka, then pour into plastic shot glasses. Place them in the refrigerator for about an hour and let it until set.

Next, top the jello shots with Cool Whip, then place a strawberry on top, pointed with the ends up. Top the point of the strawberry with a small dot of whipped cream to resemble Santa’s hat. Continue to watch Delish tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Overall, these are great adult party favors that serve as a dessert too. I think these can be dangerous because I love strawberries, and the red vibrant color looks appetizing. Jello shots are fun to eat without having to take a traditional shot because my body cannot handle straight shots anymore. Plus, it makes it easier to intake alcohol without having to make a cocktail either.
