These pumpkin dinner rolls by Savoury Days Kitchen on YouTube are so soft, fluffy, and cute that look like mini pumpkins. I’m very impressed and how realistic the pumpkins look, and they would look amazing on the dinner table for the holidays such as Thanksgiving. I love how with this recipe, you can use butternut squash or pumpkin. Also, I love how she gives an alternative where you can use canned pumpkin puree, which makes things a bit easier. There are two different styles to make these pumpkin dinner rolls such as adding cheese in the middle of the dough.
First, prepare the butternut squash or pumpkin. If you’re using real and fresh pumpkin or butternut squash, dice them into small squares. Transfer them to a baking sheet and bake them for 30-40 minutes at 446F. Check the pumpkin or butternut squash after 30 minutes. Puree with a food processor or use a fork and spoon to smash them together.
Next, prepare the dough and once ready, divide into 15 portions. Roll each into a ball, then create the pumpkin shape by flattening the dough balls and dipping a pair of scissors tip into the oil. Create slits all around and continue to dip the scissors into the oil so the cuts are smooth and seamless.
