I have chosen a Candyland Christmas theme for my living room this year and I have been scouring the internet for candy ornament ideas. I found this really cute peppermint ornament video tutorial by Southern Living, on YouTube, and this ornament idea was not only easy, but it was so cheap as well! The method of making these could not be any easier, all you need are some cookie cutters, peppermints, and an oven. You can make these ornaments very quickly as well, these cute ornaments cook in about 7 to 10 minutes.

Materials For The Peppermint Ornaments:

  • A bag of peppermints
  • Christmas cookie cutters
  • Pam (vegetable spray)
  • Parchment paper
  • Toothpick (or bamboo skewer)
  • Yarn (or thread)
  • A 350°F oven

You will begin by spraying your cookie-cutter surface with Pam cooking spray, then spray a bit more onto the parchment-covered baking sheet. You will then place the cany inside the cookie-cutter and bake your shapes in a 350°F oven for about 7 to 10 minutes.

Then, you will make a hole with your toothpick while they are cooling. Then, you will loosen the cookie-cutter mold, and place a section of holiday string or ribbon to complete the festive look of your project.
