It’s easy to make homemade hand sanitizer for an inexpensive cost with only a few products. WhatsUpMoms on YouTube shows how simple it is to make colored hand sanitizer that makes it fun for children. I know it is the time of the year with the pandemic to be more cautious with germs, and a lot of stores run out of them fast. It’s easy to run through bottles of hand sanitizer if you are trying to keep safe everywhere you go. Plus, there are no chemical toxins in this homemade hand sanitizer, and you can add any of your favorite scents too. Aloe vera is therapeutic and gentle on the skin instead of burning alcohol. Also, some hand sanitizer that restaurants and stores have smells awful, so it would be convenient to make your own at home.

Supplies:

  • 8oz Aloe Vera
  • 1 Tbs Witch Hazel
  • 1/4-1/2 tsp Tea Tree Oil
  • 1/4 tsp Vitamin E Oil (optional)
  • 10-20 Lavender Oil (optional)
  • soap colorant (optional)

Directions:

First, add the aloe vera gel into a measuring cup as the base for the hand sanitizer. Then add the active ingredients such as the witch hazel and tea tree oil. There are 2 ingredients that are optional, but Vitamin E oil is for added moisture and essential oils for the scent.

Tea tree oil at .5 to 1% concentration has been found to kill most types of bacteria, and I’m amazed how these natural products work the same as the store-bought ones that are filled with toxins. The small bottles are perfect to throw in your purse or to keep in your car. I love how this natural hand sanitizer is chemical-free.
