Natural dryer sheets are a great way to remove toxins from your home, and they are inexpensive and easy to make. Our Oily House on YouTube shows how to easily make natural drying sheets with 3 products. I am amazed by this laundry hack, because this is so much better than using the store-bought ones. It’s a simple DIY project that is useful for your laundry. It can be inexpensive depending if you do not use essential oils on a daily basis, because essential oils can cost pricy sometimes. However, it will last a long time because it takes a few drops to make this with a lot of dryer sheets to use.

Supplies:

  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 20-30 drops of essential oils
  • Cotton cloths (cotton t-shirts, fabric remnants)

Directions:

First, mix the vinegar and essential oils in a small bowl and stir until well combined. Cut up any cotton cloths such as cotton t-shirts or fabric remnants into 5 inch square pieces. Also, you can use reusable cotton baby wipes.

Next, fold the fabric pieces to fit inside the mason jar or other airtight container. Pour the vinegar and essential oil mixture over the cloth wipes. Push the cloth down into the liquid so that it is damp, but not saturated. Continue to watch Our Oily House tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Note: make sure to squeeze out any excess liquid out of the cloth before using, and throw them into the dryer like normal store-bought ones. The vinegar smell will evaporate, but the essential oil smells will linger. Vinegar helps soften your clothes as well. The combination of the two mixture help eliminate the static. I love dryer sheets because it adds an extra scent to my laundry.
