This DIY project by Becca Beach on YouTube is so interesting and fun to make! You can make these beautiful fake candles and hang them on the ceiling to make them look like it was floating. You don’t even need a lot of expensive materials to create this project, so read the instructions down below, and watch the video tutorial as well to learn how.

Materials:

  • Paper towel roll tube
  • Cardboard
  • Cutter or X-Acto knife
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks
  • Nail
  • White acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Fishing line
  • Small LED candlelights

Directions:

Step 1

First, cut the paper towel tubes into sections and desired length, then roughly trim off the top rim into the shape of a melted candle, and proceed to trim the rest of the tube rolls. Start adding long strips or drips of hot glue from the rim and down the body of the tube to imitate the melting wax effect, then let it dry completely, and proceed to add about 3 more layers of hot glue strips. Trace the bottom of the tube roll it into cardboard, then cut it out, and adhere it to the bottom of the tube to cover the hole.

Step 2

Lightly paint the inside around the top of the tube so that if it shows it will still appear white, then let it dry completely before you insert the LED candles, and then paint the whole body of the tube white. Once they are all painted white and completely dry, poke a hole through the side of the candle using a nail or similar, then insert the fishing line through, and tie the end securely. Now, you’re all done, you can start hanging the floating candles on your ceiling.
