Meatballs and meatloaf are two of the most delicious met dishes ever invented. What if you could have the best of both worlds, and cook giant meatballs filled with firey goodness on the barbecue pit? That would be a blue ribbon winner, in my books. This awesome recipe is from the BBQ Pit Boys, one of my very favorite Youtube channels. The BBQ Pit Boys will never steer you wrong on any recipe thy come up with because these good old boys know how to cook and know how to eat. The boys make all their food outdoors and usually cook for a large crew, but any of these recipes can be cut in half for a smaller group.

Ingredients:

  • 2 pounds of bacon
  • 6 pounds of ground beef chuck
  • 4 teaspoons of Cajun seasoning
  • 6 teaspoons garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup of onions (finely chopped)
  • 4 teaspoons red pepper flakes
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoons pepper
  • 4 tablespoons prepared mustard
  • 4 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Tomato sauce (for basting)
  • Shredded cheese (to top the giant fire meatball)

Directions:

In this recipe, the BBQ Pit Boys show you how to add all the ingredients into your ground chuck, as you make your giant meatball right on the cutting board.

Then, you will surround the giant meatballs with bacon and cook in a pan on the barbecue pit. You need the pan because a lot of fat will come off the bacon and ground beef, as they are cooking. You can add a tomato sauce wash and shredded cheese at the end, but this is completely optional.

These giant fireball bacon-wrapped meatballs are my new favorite. I plan on making them at least once a week.
