You sure have seen lots of pineapple upside-down cakes in various techniques and methods. But I’m pretty sure you’ve never seen something quite like this easy and quick recipe. It also used orange instead of the traditional pineapple, the citrus flavor of the fruit amplified the cake’s decadent and soft texture, you don’t even need a caramelized glaze in this cake so it’s less work. Perfect for dessert or paired with either hot or cold beverages. This recipe is so easy and quick to prepare that you can do make this several times. Don’t worry about the expense because some of the ingredients you’ll be needing will probably be available in your pantry, if not, then you’re still in good hands because this recipe is budget-friendly! Before we head on to the procedure, let me thank Amo Receitas via YouTube, because this talented woman made this yet another incredible recipe.
Cake Batter
Syrup
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until it doubles in volume and the texture becomes fluffy and frothy. Add sugar, orange juice, cooking oil, and cake flour, then continue mixing until well-combined. Add baking powder then mix gently until fully combined. Grease the baking pan by brushing it with butter, then sift sugar all over the pan. Place the slices of oranges at the bottom and pour the cake batter over. Bake it in a preheated 180°Cfor about 45 minutes until cooked all the way through.

Step 2
Pour the orange juice and sugar onto a saucepan, then stir it continuously until it boils. Poke small holes on the cake using a griller stick then start pouring the syrup on top, then let it sit and wait for around 30 minutes. Once the cake has absorbed the syrup, you can now start unmolding it then flip it outside down.
