Planning a dinner but having little to no time to prepare but wants to serve something special and savory? I’ve also been in that situation before, I once invited a friend to dinner but forgot to mention that I’m not that great of a cook, I didn’t want to resort to ordering food but I don’t have that much time in my hands either. However, I also want to leave a good impression and want my friend to enjoy the night with a full stomach. So I did what I always do in a desperate situation, run to YouTube for quick and easy tutorials I can follow. After a few minutes of browsing and I found this dish that you can cook with just Brussel sprouts and walnut, what even made it better is that it goes great with wine! We both enjoyed a great dinner that night, so for those who are in a similar situation with me, worry not, for the recipe you’re looking for is now possible in just 3 easy steps! Today’s dish is by the amazing Lidia Bastianich.
Step 1:
In a skillet pan, put olive oil and red onion, cook until tender for about 5 minutes before adding the crushed garlic and salt. When it’s sizzling, add the brussels sprouts (trimmed, outer leaves removed, and halved) then add the leaves, season with salt and red pepper flakes.

Step 2:
After letting it simmer, add the white wine vinegar then cover and lower the heat. Let it simmer until it turns tender and caramelized for about 18 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3:
Sprinkle the toasted walnuts, stir a little then serve and garnish with more walnuts.
