Broccoli is easily one of my favorite vegetables, and this broccoli salad recipe by Downshiftology on YouTube takes less than 10 ingredients to make. I love how light and fresh this recipe is and it doesn’t require a lot of preparation. Also, I don’t like goat cheese so I would switch it out with cheddar cheese. This would be a great side dish to have for lunch, or you can eat this as your main course meal. For example, I would serve this is a chicken dish. This salad recipe is loaded with flavor even though the ingredients are easy and simple. I love the crunch from the broccoli, and I’ve been wanting to make my own broccoli salad now.
First, preheat the oven to 400F, and add the bacon slices to a parchment-lined baking tray and cook for about 15 minutes or until crispy. Remove the bacon and transfer to a paper towel to dry and cool. Prepare the rest of the vegetables into bite-sized pieces, and add them to a large mixing bowl.
Next, continue to watch Downshiftology tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details. Add the homemade dressing to the mixing bowl, and stir until everything is fully incorporated.
Overall, I love salads, and making a broccoli salad adds a different variety to side dishes. It’s a healthy side dish with mayonnaise yogurt dressing. Although I do not like a creamy dressing on my salad, this would be an exception. I love broccoli salads, but sometimes it can be unhealthy since it’s loaded with a lot of sugar and mayo. Also, the only thing that needs to be cooked in this recipe would be the bacon.
