Bone broth is so amazing for your health, but did you know it is also great for dogs? Our little fur babies need their nutrients and they are not going to get them from most commercial dog foods. I worry about my fur baby’s health because certain dog breeds can be prone to osteoporosis. I went searching on the internet for a homecooked idea that could help my Jack Russell Terrier maintain her strong and dynamic health. I found a wonderful Doggie Bone Broth tutorial by Rover.com – Dog Boarding & Dog Walking on Youtube, and I knew my baby was going to love it. Finding this recipe really gave me peace of mind and I couldn’t wait to get started on this bone broth recipe. When I started roasting the bones with the carrots and celery, my fur baby started going crazy, I knew immediately I had made the right decision.
First, you will roast the marrow boned and pig trotters in a roasting pan with carrots and celery. Then you will remove them and place them in an Instant Pot or crockpot and cook slowly. The addition of vinegar is very important because it will help render the nutrients from the bones.
The end result will be a bone broth jelly that you can feed your dog twice a day.
My fur baby loves this recipe and it has really put a spring in her step.
