Argyle patterns or often seen on sweaters or socks and they look so cute but they look more lovely in a quilt! This quilted version by SewVeryEasy on YouTube makes the argyle pattern easier and more simple to create because instead of making blocks with diamonds, it will be using squares, but they will still end up as diamonds at the end of the project. If you’re curious about the technique and want to learn how, then read the instructions down below, and watch the video tutorial as well.
Step 1
Cut the solid-colored fabric into squares the same size as the charm squares, then make 52 pieces to go with 42 charms. Sew 1 solid square and 1 charm together on the side, then give them a nice press consistently in the same direction, you should have 10 solid fabric squares left over. Assemble the pieces into 6 rows; 1st row with 2 pieces, 2nd row with 4 pieces, 3rd row with 6 pieces, 4th row with 8 pieces, 5th row with 10 pieces, and 6th row with 12 pieces. Sew them together adding a solid square on each end of the charms as they should show at the center, proceed this step to the rest of the rows, then place the last solid square at the top of the charm at the center of the first row, and sew.

Step 2
After sewing each row, give them a nice press, then sew the rows together making sure that solid squares are facing the outer sides. Now that you have a large triangle patchwork, create another set and sew them together, then pivot, and you’ll now have a square patchwork. Mark and square the whole piece, then fuse the batting and backing fabric at the back and the wrong side of the patchwork. Sew the bias tape on each center of the charm squares with a zigzag or stitch on each side of the bias tape. Now, trim the squared markings you made around the edges and bind. You’re all done!
