The Amish are known for their handcrafted artisan goods and delicious foods. When I found this awesome Amish toothbrush knot rug video tutorial on YouTube, I wanted to make it immediately because I love all things Amish. I have been needing some small rag rugs for our kitchen and porch area, and this tutorial was exactly what I needed to get this project going. The coolest thing about this rug tutorial is that you can use new fabric or recycled fabric from old sheets or duvet covers.

Materials:

  • Fabric (either new or recycled cut into 1 1/2 inch wide strips)
  • A clothespin
  • A large notebook with clips
  • A pair of scissors
  • A spool of ribbon

Then, you just continue working around the rug until you reach your desired width.
