Instead of buying a stool from the stores, make it at home with this easy tutorial by The Rehab Life. You can paint it in any color you like to match the theme of your home. Watch the video below for full instructions.

DIY Stool Materials

  • one 2″ x 4″ x 10 ft board
  • 2 1/2″ constructions screws
  • sanding block

Note: dimensions 16″ h x 14″ w x 12″ d

How to Make a Stool

Step 1:

Measure and mark the board first. You need 4 pieces of 14 1/2″ long, 3 pieces of 14″ long, and two pieces of 9″ long. Once measured correctly, cut the board using the marks as a guide. You should have nine pieces.

Step 2:

Take two 14 1/2″ pieces and a 9″ piece and arrange them just like in the photo below. Predrill two holes on each side and attach the screws.

Repeat one more time to get two pieces.

Step 3:

Place them about a foot apart with the 9″ block on top. Place three 14″ pieces across the top. Make sure the outer pieces are flush with the legs. Secure both outer pieces to your base with the screws. Make sure to predrill first.

Next, evenly space the inner piece in the middle and secure as well.
