This DIY snowflake by juNxtaposition on YouTube shows how to make a snowflake decoration using plastic hangers from The Dollar Tree. The snowflake decoration can be hung up for indoor or outdoor decor, and it’s perfect for the wintertime. The instructions are easy to follow along with and it’s a simple, no-brainer project to make during your downtime. You can be creative and fancy with these snowflakes by adding fairy lights or glitter. When I come across DIYs like these, it’s definitely thinking outside the box because it’s budget-friendly and you can use any extra hangers that you may have in your closet. I have accumulated so many plastic hangers from having so many clothes over the years, and the hangers would come in handy. Also, it would be cool to make a snowflake using red and green hangers to go along with the Christmas theme and spirit.

Supplies:

  • 16 hangers
  • bag of zip ties

Directions:

First, take your hangers and place 2 together with the bottoms touching each other.  Lay them down in a pair of two in 8 groups. Repeat the process by taking a pair of two, and take the straight line of the hangers in between the open spaces.

Next, start attaching the plastic hangers together using the zip ties. Start off by tying them loosely so you’re able to adjust and move them around. Take the two handles and bars and put them together. Continue to watch juNxtaposition tutorial on YouTube for full instructions and details.

Note: it’s much easier to do this project on the floor so everything is even and leveled. Also, you can use small baby hangers for a little snowflake. I would make a variety so there are dimensions if you pair the two sizes together.
