I have always wanted to make a gingerbread house at Christmas time, but I always thought that such a beautiful grand project would be way too difficult to make. When I found this awesome gingerbread house recipe by Sally’s Baking Addiction, on YouTube, and the recipe and decorating technique looked so easy, I knew I had to make one.

- 3 cups of all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
- 2 teaspoons of ginger
- 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground all-spice
- 1/4 teaspoons of salt
- 6 tablespoons of unsalted butter (softened)
- 3/4 cups of packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 /2 cups of dark molasses
- 2 tablespoons of water
- royal icing (touse as the glue)
- Assorted candies (for decorations)
For The Buttercream Frosting:
- 1/2 cup of shortening
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 4 cups of powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons of milk
- 1/4 teaspoon of vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon of salt
