If you’re looking for an easy quilt pattern, try this around the world quilt from Missouri Star on Youtube. Around the world quilt pattern may look complex, but it’s pretty easy to make and super fun! I’m a quilting beginner myself and I super enjoy making this quilt in my downtime. Seasoned quilters will surely find this pattern enjoyable! Watch the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • 1 roll of 2 1/2″ print strips
  • 2 rolls of 2 1/2″ background strips
  • 1 3/4 yards of border fabric
  • 3/4 yard of binding fabric
  • 8 1/2 yards of backing fabric

Directions:

Step 1

To start, make four patches. Grab 21 of your strips, put them right sides together, then sew right down the side with a quarter-inch seam. After sewing, cut them into four patches, then press open. Once you do your four-patch, grab eleven more of your strips and cut them into 2 1/2″ squares.

Step 2

Next, sew a 4 1/2″ strip on the side of the four-patch, then press. Now assemble the blocks. Take another 4 1/2″ strip and place it on the side, then take one of your cornerstones and place it on the blank space where the two strips meet. Sew them together, then press. When you have four of these, put them together to create the block. (Make sure the little colored squares are going in the same way.) Once you have all your blocks, assemble them according to the pattern to finish your quilt top.
