Records have a special place in our hearts, but what can you do with an old record that is completely scratched up? I was searching on the web for some cool upcycling ideas for records and I found this awesome mandala record video tutorial by Lydia May on YouTube, that looked so easy and fun. Mandala painting has always been close to my heart because I love to do hand-painted mandala rocks, which are super easy and just require a pencil and a few q-tips to paint, and they are so much fun. These decorative mandala records are really cool in my opinion because they are so much bigger than a mandala rock and can really make a beautiful visual statement in your home. You can put the mandala records in a stand or attach a hook to the back and hang them on the wall. Wherever you place one of these awesome mandala records, you can be sure that it will go with everything around it because of the bright array of colors it holds.

Materials:

  • A record album
  • Black spray paint
  • A white chalk pencil
  • A Mandala trace
  • Craft paints (pink, white, green, gold, rust, and turquoise, whatever colors you have will work)
  • AA point painter (pencil with n eraser, q-tips, or toothpicks will work well)

Directions:

First, you will paint your record black, then you will trace the mandala pattern onto the painted record with a chalk pencil.
