If you want to keep your lettuce fresh for the week, then here’s a tutorial by MOMables – Laura Fuentes on YouTube that you should definitely watch! After learning this trick, you will be able to store your lettuce and still be able to use them in your salad with its crispiness and freshness intact. Read down below and learn how now.

Ingredients:

  • Lettuce
  • Vinegar
  • Water

You’ll also need

  • Paper towels
  • Container
  • Ziploc bag

Directions:

Step 1

First, remove the core underneath the lettuce by simply pulling it out, then cut the lettuce in half, and remove the outer leaves. Separate the leaves and place them in the salad spinner, then pour about a cup of vinegar followed by enough water to fill the rest of the bowl, mix it around with your hand and let it soak for just a few minutes. It’s not going to taste like vinegar and instead will help it stay fresh and crispy.

Step 2

Drain off the excess water, then spin the lettuce until dry, place 2 sheets of paper towel at the bottom of the container to soak any leftover moisture, and then place the lettuce leaves inside. Put another sheet of paper towel on top before covering it with the lid. You can also finely chop it if you don’t have a large container or enough space in the fridge, put the chopped lettuce inside a Ziploc bag with a paper towel inside to soak up the moisture, and seal it.
