Take a container of berries and turn them upside down. Give them a little shake and check the sides. Make sure you don’t see anything that has already been smashed or any existing mold.
Look at berries that have really greens and nice full tops.
Wash the berries with water to remove anything that is on the berries.
Add cool water to a large bowl and add 1/2-3/4 cup of vinegar. Mix it a little bit. Place the colander.
If you have strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries, start with the strawberries as they are the most sturdy, then blueberries. Soak the raspberries last as they are the most delicate.
Start adding the strawberries to the water-vinegar mixture. Remove any pieces that are soft and moldy. Let it sit for 2 to 5 minutes.
Take them out and let them drip dry as long as possible.
Place them on a clean towel and let them air dry.
Repeat steps 3 to 5 with the blueberries and raspberries.
You can reuse the containers that they came in if you are going to use them right away, but if you want them to last longer, use a sealed tight container. Just place a paper towel in the bottom of your container, then place the berries. Cover with the lid and place them in the fridge.
