If you have an ant problem in your home, this DIY is going to be your new go-to method to get rid of ants. This method will be much cheaper than purchasing a spray or chemicals. It is also done with natural ingredients so it will not be toxic for your plants. Fraser Valley Rose Farm has created a genius way to get rid of ants with this DIY. The coolest part of this is you can literally use a microwave waffle.
Materials Needed For This DIY:
- Cool Whip or Sour Cream Container
- Borax
- Sugar
- Water
- Piece Of Food
Directions:
Step One
Drill holes into the sides of your container. You can use any tuperware container as long as you drill the holes lower on the container. Only drill a few holes. Make sure the hole are low, but not low enough that your mixture will spill out.

Step Two
Mix up one part borax, three parts sugar with some warm water. Stir the mixture around to make sure the borax and sugar are dissolved.
Step Three
Place some sort of solid food into the tuperware. In the video down below, Fraser Valley Rose Farm uses an instant waffle, but you can use whatever solid food you have access to.
Step Four
Pour the borax and sugar mixture over the solid food. The baby ants will eat the solid food and the larger ants will carry it back to their young and the queen ant. Then the entire colony will be wiped out.

Step Five
Let the container sit for a day or longer to attract the ants. Once the ants are inside the container you can dispose of the container. Continue doing this until the ants are all done from your space.
