If you’ve been using your gas stove frequently for quite a while now, then you must know that over time they get gunked up with carbon, which results in a reduced amount of gas that comes out of the burner. Step 1

If your other burners seem to be fine except the one that you usually use, then most probably, it was clogged with so much carbon build-up. Start by removing the plate of your burner to check what is really going on underneath. Remember to not do this with your gas still on, before you do anything make sure to turn off your gas. Grab a toothpick or any similar tool with a pointy and thin end.

Step 2

Then, locate the tiny hole where the gas is usually coming out of, and start poking it several times until you’ve removed the carbon and the hole is unclogged. If you’re lucky, you might even let more gas come out and have a burner with higher heat than usual. Wipe it off with a clean rag or tissue, then put the plate back on the burner, and test the flame out.
