One can’t cook without seasoning with dry herbs, and if you like every ingredient organic, you definitely have to check out this tutorial from The Nature Patch on Youtube. Say goodbye to those store-bought herbs! Make your very own dry herb seasoning in the comforts of your home with this video tutorial! Who would have thought you could use an air fryer to dry up your freshly picked herbs? I’ve been making my own herbs for a year now with this technique, and I couldn’t be more thankful I found this tutorial. Watch it below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • air fryer
  • herbs to dry
  • scissors
  • twine

Directions:

Step 1

To start, pick some fresh herbs that you like to preserve. (Make sure to pick longer stems unless the herb is a really small herb.) Next, cut them all to the same length. After this, rinse them thoroughly and pat them dry completely.

Step 2

Next, take the bottom leaves off of all of the stalks and tie them all together with a piece of twine. After this, put them in the air fryer basket, then put something to weigh them down, like a spoon, to keep them in place. Set the air fryer to 100 degrees C (212 degrees F) and check it every 30 seconds for seven minutes. If the leaves are burning, adjust the temperature. (Keep in mind that every herb is different from one another, therefore adjust the temperature according to how thick the leaves are.)

Step 3

After you dried up the herbs, crunch them up into a mortar and pestle and store them in your herb bottles. You can keep them in your fridge if you rarely use them.
