Interested in learning how to cut bottles at home for cool DIY crafts and home decor projects? I was, but then I saw several different ways people show you to cut bottles. Never accepting of just one perfect method, I was determined to learn all of them, or at least the ones that really worked. Check out this awesome video I found that shows you three ways to cut bottles at home, and at least one is the perfect method for all your crafty needs. Do it yourself instead of buying cut bottles or forbid, throwing all of them away when you can make such amazing stuff from recycled glass.
Materials:
Step 1
Get a string and wrap it around the bottle. Tie it to the bottle and cut off the ends.
Step 2
Take off the string and soak it in acetone. Put it back on the bottle, preferably on the line that looks like a point where the glass is joined or a point where the glass starts to bend.
Step 3
Light up the string and spin the bottle until most of acetone has burned.
Step 4
Drop the bottle in cold water.
Materials:
Step 1
Place your bottle inside the duck tape. The duck tape would serve as a guide when your start cutting the bottle as well as a base for your hand.
Step 2
Point your glass cutter towards the bottle and gently rotate the bottle creating a line. Do this until the both lines meet.
Step 3
Heat it up on a candle by rotating the bottle specifically on where the lines was created by the glass cutter then get an ice cube and rub it to the lines around the bottle.
Repeat this step until the bottle splits in half.
Materials:
Step 1
Adjust the cutting point and place the bottle in center and turn it towards you until you hear a crunching sound.
Step 2
Heat the scoring line on the candle and cool it down with ice.
Repeat this step until the bottle splits in half.
