If you are using a comb or hairbrush several times a day but haven’t cleaned it for a while now, then it must be in a gunky and dirty situation currently which is not only unhygienic but also affects the health of your hair and scalp. There are a couple of ways that you can clean your brush but only a few of them works well and restores your brush to its former sparkling clean glory. Well, you are in luck because this video tutorial by Clean My Space on YouTube is one of the few cleaning hacks that truly works well and is pretty quick to do.

Materials:

  • Rat tail comb
  • Brush
  • Toothbrush
  • Clean spoolie
  • Baby soap
  • Warm water
  • Towel

Directions:

Step 1

Use the pointed bottom end of a rat tail comb to pick all of the hair out of the comb lifting them as high as you can, then pull all of the hair out using your hands, and repeat as needed. You can also use a spoolie which can go through the spaces and catch more hair than the end of a comb.

Step 2

After removing almost all of the hair, prepare a basin or container, then fill it with a couple of pumps of baby soap, and add warm water. Soak the brushes and combs in the cleaning mixture for about 30 minutes, then use a clean toothbrush to clean the dirty gunk at the base of the brush or comb, and once done, blot it a couple of times with a clean towel.
