Cinder blocks are one of the cheapest and easy to use building materials on the market. My husband and I were looking for an ideal building material to build an outdoor kitchen on our patio, and we found this awesome DIY cinder block video tutorial by TC Capital on YouTube, that looked really easy and perfect for our needs. The overall look of this cinder block bar scape project is very modern looking and reminded my husband and I of poolside outdoor kitchens, we had seen in Palm Springs. Bottom line was, that this project looked way more expensive than it actually was. That pricepoint really pushed us over any doubts we may have had about the cinder block idea. The other interesting thing is that you really could look at this as a base material to resurface. Tiles or just about any other material could be laid on top of a cinder block, so there was a lot of room to grow with this idea.

Materials:

  • Cinder blocks
  • Cement
  • A trowel
  • A leveler
  • A shovel

Then, the appliances are brought in and fit smoothly into the designated areas. There is also a bar area that adds a lot of visual appeal.

This bar and barbecue area is so cool! We are going to cover ours with saltillo tile, but it certainly looks great just left in its raw natural form.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
