Do you love giving surprises? If you’re one who does, then you will want to make these hot cocoa bombs. These chocolate spheres contain the delicious secrets that you want them to hold. Borderlands Bakery’s YouTube video explains the basics of making these cocoa bombs. And once you’ve got those down, the sky’s the limit as to what kind of surprises you’ll fill them with.

Directions:
Melt your chocolate. You can opt to use a chocolate warmer or traditionally melt it over a double boiler or in the microwave. Make sure to remember that the type of chocolate you use will affect the outcome of your cocoa bomb. So, if you’re going to use regular chocolate chips, temper them so that they won’t burn.
Before transferring your melted chocolate into the mold, wash it with warm water and dry it immediately with a paper towel. This is to avoid having streaks on your cocoa bomb. Then, use a spoon to transfer your melted chocolate into the mold.
For the first layer, start around the perimeter. Swirl it and make sure to coat it nicely. If you have a pool of chocolate settled at the bottom, scoop it out. Then, firmly tap your mold or press it on the back to release any air bubbles. Set it in the fridge to solidify.
Add a second layer of chocolate to the rim to strengthen it and avoid instances of your cocoa bomb easily breaking. Make sure the chocolate for this layer is not too hot to melt through the first layer. Put it back in the fridge and let it cool upside down.
Once it’s out of the fridge, cool it down at room temperature before unmolding. Then, in a warm pan, place the other half of your chocolate shell. Melt the edges to smooth them out. Remember to use gloves while doing this, so you don’t leave any fingerprints on your shell. After that, place the shell in your cupcake liner.
Fill up your cocoa bomb with half a pack of cocoa mix, a teaspoon and a half of non-dairy creamer, and as many marshmallows as you want. After that, get ready to assemble.
Take the other half of the chocolate shell and melt the edges in the pan. Adhere to the second shell and set it aside. Then, drizzle chocolate onto your cocoa bomb and throw on some sprinkles, or you can decorate and package them as you like.
