Do you love eating chips but want something healthier? If you are, here’s an easy homemade healthy veggie chips recipe by Chyummy. These chips are the perfect alternative to the ones you buy. The store-bought ones are greasy, have no nutritional value, and can cause weight gain. These homemade ones, on the other hand, do not require oil to make and don’t contain any preservatives.

You will no longer feel guilty munching chips with these healthy alternatives. Making these chips is super easy and fun too. Having a vegetable slicer will make the process easier, but you can definitely use your knife if you don’t have one. There are two ways to turn the vegetable slices into chips. You can either use your oven or your air fryer. Both methods will give you the same results, but baking them in the oven will be so much faster since you need to do it in batches in your air fryer. Healthy Vegetable Chips Ingredients

  • green plantain
  • sweet potatoes
  • carrots
  • beetroots
  • zucchini

How to Make Vegetable Chips

Step 1:

Start by thoroughly washing all of the vegetables. Next, peel the skin from all of the veggies except for the zucchini.

Step 2:

Using a veggie slicer, cut the vegetables into thin slices. You can use a knife but make sure to slice them thinly.

Step 3:

Thoroughly wash the sliced veggies in separate bowls a few times. Place on a paper towel in a single layer. Gently pat them dry, then transfer to a mixing bowl. Make sure to do them separately. Season with salt and garlic powder. Toss to mix.

Step 4:

Method 1:

Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper, then lay the veggies in a single layer. Make sure not to overlap them if you can.

Bake in a 300F preheated oven for about 45 minutes. Flip them over after every 10 to 15 minutes until crispy.

Method 2: 

Air fry them in batches in a single layer at 300F for 15 minutes, flipping after every 5 minutes until crispy.
