Place the strawberries in a bowl and soak them in salt water. This will remove bugs and any type of insects. Rinse to clean. Cut the leaves off. Set aside three strawberries, then put the others in a bowl. Mash the nine strawberries and cube the other 3 strawberries. You can mash all of them if you want. The combination of mashed and cubed strawberries creates more texture.
Add one tablespoon of sugar to the strawberries for more sweetness. Mix well with a spoon and let it sit until the sugar has dissolved for about 3 to 5 minutes. If you have a warm environment, you can refrigerate them.
If you are not planning to serve right away, you can use a sterilized glass bottle instead of a reusable plastic bottle. Transfer the mashed strawberries, then the cubed ones. Next, add 2 cups of oat milk. Shake and mix well before serving. Pour in a cup and serve with or without ice. Enjoy this yummy and delicious drink!
