So, I decided to search for recipes online and found this homemade Starbucks caramel syrup by NO OVEN on Youtube. I was so surprised, as it definitely tastes the same! Add 1 cup of sugar in a saucepan over low heat. Spread evenly into the pan and let it melt. You will see the edges slowly turning brown. Make sure to keep an eye on it. You don’t want it to burn.
While waiting for the sugar to melt, boil water in a small pot. You just need one cup.
When the sugar begins to change colors, stir with a wooden spoon until the caramel becomes completely amber. After that, remove the pan from the heat. Let it cool for a few minutes, as the water needs to be hotter than the temperature of melted sugar.
Gently pour one cup of boiling water into the caramel. Watch out for splashes when pouring it. Stir until it is well combined. Set it aside and let it cool for about 15 to 20 minutes.
Once cooled, add one teaspoon of vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Mix until well combined.
Transfer to a jar with a lid. Add to your coffee for a delicious drink! Enjoy.
