Nothing tastes quite like homemade bread, it is so comforting to eat on its own with butter, have on a sandwich, or serve on the side of any delicious meat dish. Yesterday I found an excellent homemade milk bread tutorial on Youtube by Savor Easy, that looked so easy to follow and tasty, I knew immediately that I had to make it. The recipe itself sounded like the kind of bread my grandma used to make, that our family loved so much. Since I had always wanted to make homemade bread, I really knew this was the time to try it because the directions in this video tutorial were so simple and easy to follow.

  • 1 cup warm milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dry active yeast
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour (plus 1/3 to 1/2 cup for kneading)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 2 tablespoons of oil (for your hands while kneading)
  • Egg wash (1 egg and 1 tablespoon of milk)

In this video tutorial, you will learn to make these homemade milk bread loaves from start to finish. First, you will mix your yeast, sugar, and milk in a cup and let it stand for 10 minutes, till fully bloomed. Then, you will add all of the dry ingredients and form the dough.

Then, you will follow the video tutorial as it explains how long to knead and rest the dough. The tutorial describes two ways you can make these loaves, one is a single long loaf and the other is a sectioned loaf. The long loaf is perfect to slice for sandwiches and the sectioned loaf would work phenomenally for dinner rolls or sliders.

This bread looks absolutely amazing, I can’t wait to make it.
