You’ll never buy from the stores again once you try these homemade healthy granola bars by Well Plated. It’s yummy, super easy to make, and good for you. Not only that, it’s also cheap and only requires simple ingredients! It’s the perfect grab-and-go snack in the morning.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 3/4 cup of roughly chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds or additional chopped nuts
  • 1/4 cup of unsweetened coconut flakes
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/3 cup of creamy peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt
  • 1/3 cup of mini chocolate chips or dried fruit

Instructions

Step 1:

Put the rack in the center of the oven and preheat it to 325F. Line an 8-inch or 9-inch square baking dish with parchment paper with the two sides hanging like handles, then coat generously with nonstick spray.

Step 2:

Add the oats, nuts, sunflower seeds, and coconut flakes on a rimmed, ungreased baking sheet. Place in the oven and toast until lightly golden, toasted, and fragrant for about 10 minutes. Stir once halfway through. Lower the oven temperature to 300F.

Step 3:

Add honey and peanut butter in a medium saucepan and place over medium heat. Mix until combined and smooth. Remove from heat, then add vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

Step 4:

Add the toasted oat mixture to the pan with the peanut butter. Stir well with a rubber spatula. Let it cool for 5 minutes. Once cooled, add the chocolate chips and mix.

Step 5:

Scoop the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Press the bars into a single layer with the back of a spatula.

Step 6:

Place inside the oven and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. If you want it to be slightly chewier, bake for about 15 minutes, but if you want it to be crunchier, bake for 20 minutes.
