Ingredients:

  • 4 oranges
  • ½ cup of water
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • ½ cup of granulated sugar
  • ½ tsp of grated ginger
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp of ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp of ground allspice
  • 24 ounces of fresh cranberries

Directions:

Step 1

First off, zest the oranges until you have about a teaspoon of orange zest, then cut the oranges in half, and squeeze them until you have 1 cup. Place a saucepan on a stove over high heat, then add the water, brown sugar, granulated sugar, grated ginger, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground allspice, and fresh cranberries, then mix them all together until well combined, and bring them to a boil.

Step 2

Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low, then let it simmer for about 15 to 17 minutes or until the berries burst, and once they have all broken down, give the sauce a good stir. Continue stirring occasionally and cook until the sauce has thickened and most of the liquid has gone. Once the sauce is to desired consistency, transfer it to a bowl or container, then put it in the fridge to chill, serve when ready, and enjoy!
