It’s pecan season and the pecans are pouring in from Fredricksburg, Texas. So, I made homemade butter pecan ice cream with leftover pecans from my massive pecan picking extravaganza and it turned out so delicious. This ice cream has fresh seasonal pecans in a combination of melted butter and a rich, buttery, delicate creamy flavor. You can add a little alcohol like rum or bourbon and this ice cream will really rock. This ice cream really has a buttery kick, it’s so yummy! It’s not hard at all and the ingredients are very basic.

Ingredients for The Homemade Butter Pecan Ice Cream Recipe:

  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup of brown sugar
  • 3 cups of whole milk
  • 3/4 cup of heavy cream
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla
  • 1 cup of chopped pecans
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
