This recipe is quick and easy, as it uses a box of cake mix. You can make it taste homemade just by substituting some ingredients. Hawaiian Dream Cake Ingredients

For the cake:

  • 1 package of lemon cake mix or pineapple
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of crushed pineapple
  • 1/2 cup of coconut
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice
  • 1/2 cup of vegetable oil

For the pineapple cream cheese frosting:

  • 4 oz of cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/4 cup of butter (softened)
  • 1 cup of sugar powder
  • 2 tablespoons of well-drained crushed pineapple
  • 2 tablespoons of toasted coconut (optional)

How to Make Hawaiian Dream Cake

Step 1:

Preheat your oven to 350F.

Step 2:

Add all the cake ingredients in the bowl of your stand mixer except the pineapple and coconut. Mix until well combined.

Step 3:

Add the coconut and pineapple to the batter. Mix until well combined.

Step 4:

Prepare 2 round pans by lining them with parchment paper. Equally divide the batter into the prepared pans. Tap to remove air bubbles.

Step 5:

Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the pan and let it cool.

Step 6:

Make the filling. Cream the butter and cream cheese together. Add the sugar powder and mix until well combined. Add one teaspoon of milk and mix until smooth.

Step 7:

Add the coconut and pineapple to the filling and mix well.

Step 8:

Spread the filling on top of one cake, then top with the other. Cover the whole cake with the filling. Chill in the fridge for a few hours. Serve and enjoy!
