I love trying out unique food, and this one from cook with Abeel on Youtube certainly caught my attention. This hasselback potato bread recipe is nothing like I’ve ever tried before; it’s flavorful, buttery, and visually appetizing. This is one of my favorite potato recipes, and you will definitely love this once you’ve tasted it. Learn how to make this through the video below.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • milk as required
  • 4 tbsp butter, divided
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander
  • 2 – 3 boiled potatoes, chopped
  • 1 tsp chili flakes
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Directions:

Step 1

In a bowl, add 2 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 tbsp powdered sugar, 1 tsp salt, and 1 tbsp yeast. Mix well, then add milk gradually. (Add the milk as required to make a soft dough.) Switch with your hands and continue to mix until you form a dough. Add 2 tbsp butter and incorporate it into the dough, kneading for five minutes, then form it into a ball. Grease a bowl with some oil and put the dough in. Brush some oil on the dough and leave it in a warm place covered, until it doubles in size. Next, in a bowl, add 2 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp minced garlic, and 1 tbsp finely chopped coriander. Mix well and set aside. In another bowl, add three chopped boiled potatoes followed by 1 tsp chili flakes, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp black pepper. Mash well with a fork.

Step 2

Punch the gas out of the dough, then divide it into eight equal pieces. Roll a piece thinly, then spread some garlic butter mixture on the surface. Make long thin slices on the dough sheet, then add some potato stuffing at the bottom. Roll out the dough carefully, tucking in the sides. Repeat this process, then place each potato bread on a muffin tin. Brush the top with some whisked egg. Place it in the oven at 350 degrees F and bake for 15 to 20 minutes.
