1. Watercolor stripes

Instructions:

For this design, use 3 shades of blue or any color that you want. Fill 3 cups with water. Dip one paint brush into water and make a horizontal line just above the bottom edge of the tea towel. Then get the other brush and dip it into the darker shade of blue paint and then into the water. Make the same stripe as the one with water. Next, use a lighter shade of blue, then the lightest one. You can use tape to hold it in place. Do the same for the other edge. Once done, let it dry. This beautiful technique is called “wet on wet”. you place wet paint on a wet paint material which helps the color spread and flow.

2. Gingham check inspired

Instructions:

For this next design, use pink and red. Fill 2 cups with water. For this pattern, you can either hand paint it or make a DIY stencil using painter’s tape. Sketch vertical lines using the orange paint and deepen the color to your desired value and saturation. Turn it around and make vertical lines using the pink paint. Let it dry.

3. Dot design

Instructions:

For this design, you can use a foam brush, stamp, or large paintbrush. You will be using green and yellow paint for this third pattern. First, use the green paint and create a row of oval shapes leaving a few spots for the yellow paint. Then make oval on the free spaces using yellow paint. Do the same for the next rows but with a different pattern for variation.
