Materials:

  • Cinnamon
  • Paper towels
  • Banana peels
  • Water
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Stick
  • Tampon
  • Eggshells
  • Orange peels

Directions:

Planting hack #1

Cover dry seeds with ground cinnamon (this will act as a fungicide), then place them on a paper towel and place another piece of paper towel on top of them. Spray them with water and leave them in the dark for about 5 days. After 5 days they will be ready to plant.

Don’t throw away banana peels but collect them instead. Place them on a baking sheet, then bake them in a preheated oven at 350° for about 30 minutes, and let them cool down before crumbling them. This can be used for your plants as eco-friendly compost.

Insects flying around your plant? Here’s a simple homemade solution to make your plants pest-free. Simply mix together equal parts of water and hydrogen peroxide, then pour it directly into the soil of your plant.

Test your plants’ hydration level by inserting a stick or similar deep into the soil of your plants. If it comes out dry and clean, then your plants need some water, but if it comes out with wet dirt stuck onto the stick, then they’re hydrated.

Are your plants overwatered? Grab a tampon, then place it on the soil of your plant, and let it absorb all of the excess water.

In a blender, add the eggshells, orange peels, and some water, then blend them all together until smooth. Now, you have an easy homemade fertilizer.
