You’ll only need a few ingredients that you might already have in your kitchen. It comes together quickly and easily and you’ll have this on your staples once you try it. Learn how to make it by watching the video below for the step by step instructions.

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb green beans (or haricots verts), rinsed and trimmed
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, divided
  • 1/2 cup slivered almonds (or slices almonds)
  • 1/8 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt, plus 1 tbsp to salt the water
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 1/2 tsp lemon zest, plus more to serve

Directions:

Step 1

To start, trim off the tough ends from your green beans. Next, boil a pot of salted water and add the green beans. Cook for three to seven minutes, depending on the thickness of your beans. Once crisp-tender, drain the beans and rinse them in cold water to stop the cooking process. Then, heat a large skillet over medium-low heat and melt 3 tbsp butter. Once melted, add 1/2 cup of slivered almonds and season with 1/4 tsp fine sea salt and 1/8 tsp ground black pepper. Mix constantly for about two to three minutes or until golden and toasted.
