When I was a child German chocolate cake was my favorite cake. When Baskin Robbins first opened in a neighboring town, I was so excited that they had an ice cream flavor called German chocolate cake that was light chocolate ice cream filled with dark chewy chocolate chunks, lots of pecans, and shreds of coconut. I loved that ice cream so much, so when I found this awesome German chocolate cupcake recipe by Preppy Kitchen, on YouTube, I had to make these delicious-looking cupcakes as soon as possible.

Ingredients For The German Chocolate Cupcakes Recipe:

For The Cupcakes:

• 1 & 1/3 cup of all-purpose flour
• 2 teaspoons of baking powder
• 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/4 teaspoon of salt
• 6 tablespoons of butter
• 1 & 1/2 cups of sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla
• 3/4 cup of milk
• 1/3 cup of sour cream
• 2-ounces of German chocolate
• 1/4 cup of coffee (hot)

For The Filling:

• 1/2 cup of semi-sweet chocolate
• 3/4 cup of cream
• 2 tablespoons of bourbon

For The Frosting:

• 3 large egg yolks
• 1 can of evaporated milk
• 1 & 1/4 cup of packed light brown sugar
• 1 & 1/2 sticks of unsalted butter
• 1 teaspoon of vanilla
• 1/4 teaspoon of Kosher salt
• 2 & 2/3 cups of sweetened coconut (shredded)
• 1 & 1/2 cups of chopped pecans (lightly toasted in the oven)

In this awesome German chocolate cupcake recipe by Preppy Kitchen, on YouTube, you will learn how to make these delicious cupcakes in a few easy steps. You will begin by making your cupcake batter and pouring it into the individual cupcake pan lined with paper cupcake wrapers. You will bake the cupcakes in a 350°F oven for 15 minutes. When the cupcakes are done, let cool and remove a small part of the center and add the rich chocolate filling.

Then, you will make the delicious German chocolate icing and add a generous amount to the top of each one using an ice cream scoop, then decorate with some of your chocolate filling.
