I recently found this video recipe tutorial for Frito pie by For Us Foodies, on YouTube, and it brought back so many childhood memories. We used to eat Frito pie at school once a month and I always looked forward to it. The lunchroom ladies would always serve it in the actual Frito bag covered in chili and cheese, and it was so delicious. This recipe is very similar to the Frito pie that I ate all those years ago but is made on individual oven-proof dishes. It is perfect for a family meal because everyone has their own individual dishes. You can modify this recipe by using a can of chili, if you are in a pinch, it will still be delicious.

Ingredients For Frito Pie:

  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1/3 cup of onions (chopped)
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 pack of taco seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons of chili powder
  • 1 can of black beans (drained)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of cheddar cheese (shredded)
  • 1/2 cup of green onions (chopped)
