Step 1
In a large bowl, mix together the flour and salt until well combined before adding the sugar and yeast, then mix them again until well combined. Pour in the lukewarm milk, melted butter, and mashed potatoes, then mix them until fully combined and turns into a sticky dough. Sprinkle some flour into your work surface, then transfer the dough and knead them until it turns smooth. Form and shape it into a ball, then place it in a greased bowl, and cover with a plastic wrap. Leave it to rise in a warm place for about 1 to 2 hours or until it doubles in size. After the dough has risen, degas the dough and reshape it into a ball, then divide it into 6 pieces. Roll each piece into smaller dough balls. Place each ball into a greased muffin mold, then cover them with plastic wrap and let them rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.

Step 2
Place a small non-stick pan on a stove over low heat, then mix together the flour, salt, and sugar until well combined. Gradually pour the warm milk into the pan while stirring consistently. Continue cooking while mixing for a few minutes or until it thickens. Add in the turmeric powder and mix until well combined. Transfer the mixture into a piping bag, cut the tip slightly, then set it aside. After the buns doubles in size, then brush the top with egg wash or with a mixture of milk and turmeric powder. Take the piping bag and start piping decorations on top of each bun, then pop them in a preheated no-fan oven at 180°C-350°F for about 19 to 20 minutes or until the top is nice and golden. Let it cool down before serving!
