Chicken dinners are simple and easy, so it’s nice to find recipes that can be unique. This firebird chicken recipe by Food Wishes on YouTube looks amazing and I love spicy food. This would be catered to those that can handle the spice because habanero peppers are no joke. I think spicy foods give such a nice flavoring to dishes. Even though I can’t handle too much spice, I think it’s worth it and it’s addicting. Plus, this chicken has a nice golden brown color to it, and it looks very tasteful. There’s not much going on with this chicken recipe, which is why it’s easy to pair it with anything.

Ingredients:

  • 1 clove garlic, sliced
  • 2 eaches habanero peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 3 tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 (8oz) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/4 cup rice flour
  • 3 tbsp vegetable oil

Directions:

First, to make the sauce, combine garlic, habanero peppers, and salt in a mortar and pestle and crush it into a paste. If you don’t have one, you can blend it in a food processor or smash it in a bowl with a spoon. Add Sriracha and egg to the mixture and whisk to combine. Next, once the chicken strips have been marinated in the sauce for 2 to 12 hours in the fridge, cook them on a nonstick pan over medium-high heat.

This firebird chicken can be served on a bed of rice and a side of vegetables. However, if you’re watching out for carbs, you can serve these like grilled chicken tenders with a side of sauce. They look so juicy, and really requires no effort to make. The sauce is what makes up for this recipe.
