The world of crystals is truly amazing and once you start collecting them you can’t stop. I have them in every size and shape, so when I saw this fabulous recipe for edible geodes nothing could have been more perfect for me. The instructions were easy to follow and the ingredients were basic, so I got going as fast as I could to create these edible works of art.
Ingredients:
- 3 cups Sugar
- 1 cup Water
- A few drops of food coloring
- A few drops of almond flavoring
- Bag of Candy Melts (or White Almond Bark)
- 2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder
Directions:
First, you make a molding bowl by adding flour and setting another bowl inside that and adding more flour.
Then line that flour bowl with aluminum foil and add sugar solution in the color of your choice, let sit for 48 hours.
Then take out your beautiful geode and set it upside down on a glass.
Then melt your White Almond Bark or Candy Melts and pour over your upside down sugar geode.
Then add cocoa to your remaining Almond Bark or candy melt mixture, stir well.
Then pour the chocolate mixture all over the sugar geode with the white chocolate almond bark and crumble some cookies on top to get an unearthed rock effect.
Then when the mixture is dry remove your geode and enjoy.
These Edible Geodes are stunning and make great gifts. I made several for my bosses at work and they were so impressed, seriously they look like something that would cost a fortune in the finest chocolate shop.
